Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting a Project Manager on a Permanent basis, located in Staffordshire.
The Project Manager will work with major clients within the Nuclear Industry, integrating with existing C&I systems, stand-alone projects, and greenfield developments. The contracts, with cumulative values of several million pounds, include a range of full turnkey solutions based on PLC/SCADA technology and hardwired/logic-based safety systems. Responsibilities cover Requirements Definition, Design, Substantiation, Implementation, Testing, Installation, Commissioning, and ongoing support.
Role Description:
1. Senior management role responsible for multiple contracts cumulatively worth several million pounds, from inception through to delivery within demanding timescales.
2. Ensuring the portfolio of projects are delivered on time, to specification, within budget, and to customer satisfaction.
3. Liaison with production and hardware engineering facilities based at Stone.
4. Overall financial responsibility for these contracts, including subcontracts for specialist works and supplies.
5. People-management responsibility for leading and motivating a team of project managers, hardware, software, and installation engineers (up to 30).
6. Responsibility for all Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety aspects of the projects through the Company Q,H&S Manager and project H&S Advisor.
7. Hold regular report and progress meetings with clients.
8. Assist in securing future business by cultivating customer expectations through excellent delivery.
Essential Requirements:
1. Degree qualified, ideally from an electrical engineering background.
2. At least 10 years demonstrable full E,C&I project management experience within the nuclear industry or similar regulated background.
3. Good customer-facing skills.
4. Experience of NEC3/4 contracting.
5. Commercially astute and an experienced negotiator.
6. Demonstrable track record of achieving project timescales, margins, customer satisfaction, and quality.
7. Experience of subcontractor management.
8. Strong leadership skills, including team management experience.
9. Current driving license and willingness to travel, with some stays away at customer sites.
10. Ability to gain SC clearance as a minimum.
Desirable Requirements:
1. A recognized project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, APMP) and/or approved training.
2. A recognized safety qualification (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely) and/or approved training.
3. Experience of CEMAR.
