An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pay & Reward Specialist to join a dynamic and complex organisation, working alongside a fantastic HR team. This is a key role in shaping the organisation’s reward strategy, ensuring competitive and equitable pay structures that attract, retain, and motivate top talent. Reporting to the Head of HR, you will be responsible for developing and implementing reward policies, managing job evaluation processes, and providing expert advice on compensation and benefits. Key Responsibilities • Develop and implement competitive pay and reward strategies aligned with business objectives. • Manage salary benchmarking, job evaluations, and market analysis to ensure equitable and competitive compensation structures. • Provide expert guidance on salary reviews, bonus schemes, and employee benefits. • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements, including gender pay gap reporting and equal pay reviews. • Collaborate with HR colleagues and business leaders to design and implement recognition programs. • Support the annual pay review process, including data analysis, recommendations, and stakeholder engagement. • Develop and maintain reward policies and procedures, ensuring consistency and transparency. • Work closely with payroll and HR teams to ensure accurate implementation of reward changes. • Lead on pay governance, ensuring policies and frameworks are fit for purpose in a complex unionised organisation. • Contribute to HR projects and initiatives that enhance employee engagement and organisational performance. To succeed in this role, you will need: • Proven experience in a pay, reward, or compensation & benefits role, ideally within a complex or multi-site organisation. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide meaningful insights. • Experience in salary benchmarking, job evaluation, and pay review processes. • Knowledge of UK employment legislation related to pay, reward, and benefits. • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and advise senior leaders. • A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with a keen eye for detail. • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. • A passion for reward strategy and a desire to drive best practices. • Experience using HR or reward systems to support compensation analysis (desirable). • CIPD qualification or equivalent experience (desirable).
