Gartree High School Ridgeway, Oadby, Leicester, LE2 5TQ An 11-16 Academy ‘An Outstanding School’ (Ofsted October 2018) POST OF LEARNING MENTOR – GRADE 7 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday – Term Time only + 5 extra days Permanent post to start as soon as possible(Salary £24,708 - £25,983 per annum, pro rata)Actual salary: £20,004 to £21,036We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a SEN Learning Mentor at Gartree High School. Working under the direction and supervision of the SENCo, you will strengthen the day to day support and learning experience in and out of the classroom environment for high profile SEN students. This may include: Assisting with planning, delivery and evaluation of learning activities; supporting in whole classes and working with individuals and small groups of pupils.Supporting high profile SEN students to engage proactively within their timetabled lessons.Supporting the learning and emotional well-being with high profile SEN students.Working with the SENCO and teaching staff to help raise boy’s achievement in high profile SEN students.Working with SEN Emotionally Based School Avoidance students to promote attendance with students and families.Representing and supporting the student alongside the SENCO in meetings with external agencies and the Local Authority.Communicating with families in the role of Key Worker for high profile SEN students with EHCPs or currently going through the EHCNA/EHCP process. It is essential that you are passionate about improving learner experience and working closely with young people, their families and external support. You will also be confident in dealing with complex situations by demonstrating effective communications and tactfulness. Excellent record keeping skills and attention to detail is essential.
