Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Senior Nurse Hepatology/Alcohol
NHS AfC: Band 8a
Job overview
The Advanced Clinical Practitioner/Senior Nurse for Hepatology/Alcohol works as a key member of the GI Unit, working with a high degree of independence and autonomy to provide care and treatment to patients within a specific area of expertise or to a defined caseload of patients. The nurse practitioner utilises advanced clinical judgment and decision making to manage complex clinical situations, leading the Hepatology/Alcohol CNS and multidisciplinary team and the delivery of the departmental and trust service targets and meeting the four pillars of advanced practice.
The Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) role has been developed in response to changing healthcare provision, with the emphasis on developing expert clinical skills including advanced assessment and diagnostic skills.
