What skills and experience we're looking for
The children, staff and governors of Ecclesfield Primary School are looking to appoint an outstanding teacher for an Y6 class. This would be a significant opportunity to become part of our wonderful two form entry primary school for the right candidate.
Ecclesfield is an outward-facing school, with senior leaders supporting children across the locality in a range of ways. Ecclesfield Primary School is federated with Coit Primary School and thus there are many opportunities to work alongside staff at both schools.
Both schools are committed to nurturing staff to support the development of the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to be an outstanding classroom practitioner.
We are looking for someone who will:
• Experience of having completed a successful position in a Y6 class
• Be an inspiring, enthusiastic, highly skilled classroom practitioner with high expectations of all our pupils
• Have a thorough knowledge of all the curriculum subjects
• Be creative with the children’s learning journeys to inspire and cater for all pupils which will ensure their love of learning continues straight away in September
• Use assessment effectively to ensure children make outstanding progress
• Be experienced in the use of formative assessment and retrieval practice to identify gaps so that children “keep up” rather than having to “catch up”
• Provide a positive, inclusive learning environment for all pupils
• Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work tirelessly with parents, governors and other agencies to ensure that all children are as successful as they can be
• Enjoy working as part of a highly effective team
• Be a self-reflective practitioner who is enthusiastic to embrace ongoing professional development
• To actively promote the safeguarding and welfare of all children
• To fully support the life and work of our school
What the school offers its staff
In return, we offer:
• Enthusiastic, well-behaved and motivated pupils
