Our client, a prominent player in the Defence sector, is currently seeking an Industrial Validation Engineer to join their team in Greater Manchester or Hertfordshire. This permanent role is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding team responsible for the technical validation of external supply chain activities, ensuring the successful delivery of parts / projects required for full-rate production.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess and validate suppliers' capability to meet requirements
Support suppliers to develop robust manufacturing systems and control plans
Conduct Industrial Validation activities such as Process FMEAs and Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) assessments
Manage a portfolio of suppliers across multiple projects
Identify and communicate manufacturing and supply chain risks, implementing improvement and mitigation plans
Handle elements of manufacturing capability transfer from in-house to supplier
Track and report validation status to senior Industrial Engineers, management, and stakeholders
Job Requirements:
Experience in Manufacturing Engineering with strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques
Desirable experience in manufacturing and New Product Introduction (NPI) within the Aerospace or Defence sectors
Proficiency in Industrial Validation tools such as Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Process FMEAs, and Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) assessments
Skilled in problem-solving and improvement toolsets
Strong analytical abilities and proficiency in Excel, SAP QM system, and document management tools
Excellent communication skills to work closely with Design, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality teams
Ability to travel monthly to customer sites and work effectively in a team environment
