As a Test Facilities Engineer at Siemens Energy, your day will be dynamic and impactful, centered around ensuring the optimal performance of our test facilities. You will engage in meaningful projects that involve troubleshooting complex systems, collaborating with Test Engineering teams, and coordinating with both internal staff and external suppliers to maintain and calibrate test equipment. Your work will directly contribute to the reliability of our testing processes, enhancing our ability to deliver low-emission power generation solutions. How You'll Make an Impact
* Ensure 95% availability and reliability of test facilities through proactive maintenance and rapid response to breakdowns.
* Independently make sound engineering decisions to meet business objectives while escalating complex issues as needed.
* Manage and maintain test equipment, ensuring it meets operational and safety standards.
* Communicate effectively across teams, from Test Engineering to direct works staff and suppliers, to resolve technical issues.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards and health & safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
* Identify improvements to help increase facility uptime, reduce energy consumption, or simplify production processes.
* Apply your automation and controls knowledge to improve test facility performance, optimize processes, and enhance system reliability.
What You Bring
* A minimum of an HNC or equivalent qualification, with at least two years of relevant engineering experience.
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage straightforward technical issues independently.
* A proactive approach to decision-making, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise at all levels internally and externally.
* Knowledge of industry standards such as DSEAR, PSSR, and Legionella control.
* Experience with pumps, electrical controls, and hydraulic systems would be highly beneficial to the role.
* Relevant controls experience, including troubleshooting and maintaining automated systems to improve facility efficiency.
About the Team
Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
