The Department of Social Work and Social Policy is located in the School and offers a four year Bachelor of Social Work (Honours), a two year postgraduate Master of Social Work along with Higher Degree by Research options and Graduate Certificates in Child Protection, Social Policy and Mental Health. Key focus areas for the Department in teaching and research include the integration of Indigenous cultural knowledges across the courses and the embedding of Lived Experience across the Department. About the opportunity Supports students in placement – Acts as a bridge between the university, students, and field agencies, ensuring students receive appropriate learning opportunities and support during their placement. Conducts site visits & evaluations – Regularly checks in with students and field supervisors, conducting site visits, assessments, and problem-solving any challenges that arise. Ensures educational & ethical standards – Helps integrate social work theory with practice, ensures compliance with ethical guidelines, and facilitates reflective learning through supervision and feedback. About you A Social Work degree qualification recognised by The Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). A minimum of 5 years post graduate, social work practice experience Varied availability during office hours and a wiliness to travel to agency sites (within reasonable distance of your base) Conduct a minimum of two site visits and regular check-ins with students and supervisors throughout the placement period. The ability to facilitate communication with multiple stakeholders with time limitations. Note : A current National Police Clearance Certificate, Working with Children Check, and “C” class driver’s licence will be required by the successful applicant.
