Vetting Officer Responsible to the Security Controller for delivering effective National Security Vetting (NSV) administration within the Company and the day-to-day administration and delivery of security vetting procedures and processes. This may include dealing with sponsorship of UKSV clearances, ensuring the BPSS has been satisfactorily completed before NSV is sought, and any NSV related duties that the Security Controller sees fit to delegate. Where the Security Controller has delegated the processing of some (or all) aftercare activities, they should be managed and undertaken promptly and effectively, liaising with HR and Welfare organisations within the company as necessary. Location : Wimborne, UK Your Challenge: Overseeing and responsible for all initial business security vetting (BPSS), in compliance with relevant legislation. Responsible for all security vetting forms and ensure that they are compliant with legislation and security policies. Responsible for third party security vetting (BPSS) and aftercare, in compliance with relevant legislation, and that they operate according to the principles embedded in relevant Government standards. Responsible for initiating SC, DV and renewal clearances, where appropriate and required, administer the security controls for the appropriate maintenance of personnel security for National Security Vetted (NSV) staff either in the employ of the Company, or sub-contracted to that Company. Responsible for informing employees of their roles and responsibilities if they have SC & DV clearances and administer policies, practices and decisions which recognise the current and evolving needs of all the stakeholders. Where appropriate, and where the responsibility has been delegated, ensure that incidents, changes of circumstances (CPCs) or any other situation or event that may affect an individual’s ability to hold an NSV clearance are reported via the appropriate means to UKSV in their role as UK Vetting Authority for Government. Being readily available for consultation and providing vetting related security advice to the Company’s management and employees. Specific duties may include: Administering and maintaining the vetting register, ensuring it is kept accurate and up to date. If appropriate, ensuring that residency waivers are constructed for sign off by the Personnel Security Controller. Where appropriate and where authority has been delegated, ensure that transfer action takes place on NSV clearances, where sponsorship responsibility has passed to another organisation. Where appropriate and where authority has been delegated, ensure that termination action takes place on NSV clearances. Where appropriate and where authority has been delegated, ensure that the relevant checks on individuals, such as change of personal circumstances and annual Security Appraisal Forms (SAFs) are completed. Providing clearance details to Contracting Authorities, Project Teams or other industry partners when required. Providing clearance details and statistics to the Security Controller when required. What You Bring: Ability to obtain a UKSV security clearance. Due to the nature of work performed at this site, incumbents must be a British National. Knowledge, experience and understanding of National Security Vetting (NSV) and Industry Personnel Security Assurance ( IPSA) legislation and policies. Attention to detail and communicates well with external and internal customers. Can maintain records accurately and in such a way that information can be easily accessed and analysed when appropriate. Can explain UK Vetting regulations and concepts to a wide range of audiences, stakeholders and third parties. Maintains an awareness of changes to UK Vetting regulations and procedures and ensure that they are passed down through the business. DISA Security Vetting & Personnel Course Certification desirable, if not held will be required to obtain once you have begun employment with us.
