Key Requirements:
1. Relevant professional qualification in service to children and young people.
2. Social Work England Registration Number.
3. Proven track record in the leadership, management and development of services which have led to a positive outcome for children, young people and their families.
4. Experience of effective working across organisational boundaries which has led to improved outcomes for CYP and their families.
5. Experience of implementing strategies for service development which has led to quality improvement.
6. Experience of working in a political environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Take the strategic lead on designing, implementing, and monitoring quality assurance systems and processes to ensure quality of practice across the council’s children and young people’s services and across multi-agency services.
2. Ensure that practice and process is effectively challenged and where it is identified that they need improvement, that this is identified to Heads of Service, Lead Commissioners and Directors so that appropriate action can be taken. Monitor the impact of the subsequent actions to ensure necessary improvements are then made.
3. Ensure that complaints are dealt with in accordance with County Council policy and statutory requirements.
4. Analyse feedback from complaints and compliments, reviews of children in care, child protection conferences and allegations management in order to identify areas of good practice and those requiring improvement. Take the necessary action to ensure that identified improvements are made.
5. Take strategic lead of the design, implementation and monitoring of children’s and young people’s participation.
6. Support the Safeguarding Children’s Partnership and manage the Safeguarding Board Business Manager.
7. Take the strategic lead on safeguarding across the Children and Young People’s Partnership and design and deliver a quality assurance framework for safeguarding.
