We’re looking for an experienced Purchasing Team Leader to join a fast-paced and forward-thinking team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Starting ASAP, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving procurement excellence across the business, leading a talented team. In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll be responsible for managing your team’s daily operations, ensuring deadlines are met, and supporting them through training and development. You’ll be the key point of contact for internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders, and your expertise will help shape strategic decisions and improvements within the procurement function. What You’ll Be Doing Leading a Team: Oversee day-to-day operations, conduct one-on-one meetings, manage resources, and tackle escalations. You’ll ensure the team meets targets and delivers results while providing regular updates to the Procurement Team Manager. Vendor Relations: Be at the forefront of working with major vendors, lead negotiations and ensure procurement processes are smooth and effective. Team Development: Foster growth by supporting your team’s development needs, keeping vendor knowledge up to date, and ensuring they have the tools and training they need to succeed. Process Improvement: Identify and implement changes within procurement processes, making sure they're resilient and scalable to accommodate future growth. Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with various teams across the business to drive projects that align with the wider operational strategy. You’ll play a key role in shaping and executing the company’s procurement approach. Market Insight: Stay ahead of procurement trends, communicate insights to the wider team, and ensure the procurement strategy reflects market dynamics. Ownership: While managing a team, you’ll also take responsibility for your own procurement tasks, ensuring efficient order processing and meeting customer demand. What We’re Looking For Leadership Experience: A strong track record in leading teams, with the ability to motivate, guide, and manage people at different career stages. Procurement Knowledge: You should be familiar with key procurement models, particularly within IT/Hardware/Solutions Problem-Solving: The ability to handle challenges and solve issues that arise within the team or with external suppliers. Project Management Skills: Experience managing both people and resources to meet company goals, with a keen eye for efficiency and improvement. Self-Motivation: You’ll be proactive in managing your own responsibilities while leading by example and developing your skills to meet company values. Communication Skills: Excellent at building relationships and communicating with colleagues, vendors, and customers, ensuring smooth and effective procurement operations.
