Omni-Care was established in 1999 as a small family operation providing support to people who are elderly or have a disability, and those who care for them. From these humble beginnings we have grown to service all areas of metropolitan Melbourne and currently have a workplace of approximately 350 support workers and around 60 office staff. Your New Role
The Support Worker Mentor role is responsible for ensuring the quality and sustainability of our support workers to deliver excellent customer service to our fabulous clients. We are looking for a person who has worked as a Support Worker or PCA in aged care or disability and understands the requirements and challenges of the work but also has good administrative and computer skills as there is a high level of documentation and completion of compliance tasks in this role.
You will use your excellent interpersonal skills and experience to guide, support, develop and train Support Workers. This includes conducting onsite competency assessments in clients' homes and meeting with them in their work zones. A fully maintained company vehicle is provided to facilitate these activities. You will also be the first point of contact for questions and concerns that workers have in relation to their work. You will be responsible for ensuring that the team operates within company policies and procedures, and legislation and standards that apply to the sector.
What You Need
* A relevant qualification in Nursing, Aged Care, Individual Support, or Disability fields.
* Practical experience in one of the above fields is essential as is competence in administration tasks.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
* Minimum of two COVID vaccinations.
* A relevant police check is a mandatory requirement for work in the aged care sector.
