Opportunity Overview We are now looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused individual to fill an exciting opportunity in The University of Salfords Sport Centre. The Operations Manager is responsible for the operational management and day to day running of the Sports Centre. This is a great opportunity for a highly organised individual who is looking to progress within Higher Education Sport. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of successfully leading a team to reach a mutual goal, this being the successful and efficient day-to-day operational running of the Sports Centre. Our Sports Centre contains the following facilities: 25 metre swimming pool with sauna and spa Fitness suites consisting of cardiovascular, resistance, weights and strength and conditioning rooms 2 squash courts Fitness studio 6-court sports hall Main Responsibilities To line manage a team of duty officers, sports assistants, and receptionists ensuring consistency of approach, delivery of high-quality customer service and ensuring that staff under your direction are adequately trained and competent for the tasks being asked of them and address any shortcomings with them and the Head of Sport. To be responsible for ensuring appropriate risk assessments and safe systems of work are in place for all activities, and staff are working to these in compliance with Health and Safety requirements To be responsible for operations of the swimming pool plant. Developing and monitoring SLAs and service contracts. To assist with the management of pool plant operations and ensure checks are carried out and logged as stipulated in our best practice guidance To be responsible for the updating and monitoring of Standard Operating Procedures including Emergency Action Plans (EAP), Normal Operating Procedures (NOP) and Pool Technical Operating Procedure (PTOP) for the sports facilities A bit about Estates and Property Services Utilising the resources of some 320 directly employed staff, supported by numerous external contractors, Estates & Facilities Services is responsible for delivering a full estates and facilities management service to the University, including capital development, property maintenance, cleaning, security, caretaking and landscaping.
