Job summary
The post holder will work closely alongside a multidisciplinary team, including consultant cardiologists, Junior Doctors, clinical nurse specialists, the OPD team, and the Patient Pathway Team to deliver a comprehensive support service for patients requiring interventional Cardiology procedures.
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Cardiology Team as a Medical Secretary at Morriston Hospital.
The post holder will support Consultant Cardiologists, Junior Doctors, Nursing staff, and Management. Main duties include typing clinic notes, procedure reports, and miscellaneous letters; maintaining accurate RTT and FUNB reporting; and booking patients for appointments and treatments in a timely manner.
The ideal candidate will be motivated, enthusiastic, and proactive. Effective organisational skills, initiative, and excellent time management are essential, along with the ability to self-organise.
Knowledge of Welsh is desirable; applications from English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome.

Person Specification
Essential Experience:
* Coordinating administration activities
* Working as a medical secretary
* Organising workload and people
Desirable Experience:
* Experience within the NHS
Essential Qualifications & Knowledge:
* Vocational Level 4 or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience
* RSA/OCR Level 3 or equivalent plus Medical Terminology, ECDL or similar
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Evidence of CPD
Desirable Qualifications:
* City & Guilds (AMSPAR) Level 3 Diploma in Medical Administration
* NVQ 3 Customer Service
* ILM Level 2
* Knowledge of RTT process
