Hutcheon Mearns have been engaged by a global oil service company to source a Reporting Analyst on a full time, staff basis. This role will be based in Aberdeen with hybrid and flexible working. You will play a key role in supporting the Group Finance team by assisting with financial reporting, analysis, and controls. The Opportunity Assist with accounting for transactions within central entities, ensuring accurate reflection in accounting records Analyse financial performance for HQ costs, comparing actuals to budget and investigating key variances Act as a business partner to cost centre owners for central functions, providing financial insights to help them manage budgets effectively Assist with the running of the monthly close process, coordinating with relevant teams to resolve any issues promptly Perform assigned monthly consolidation tasks including intercompany reconciliations and elimination entries to maintain accuracy across group entities Help prepare monthly consolidated financial reports Coordinate with regional finance teams for updates and data, supporting smooth communication and timely reporting Help analyse regional results, financial position, and cashflows, comparing these to budget and prior periods as part of the board pack preparation process Prepare financial commentary and analysis for inclusion in board pack materials Support the implementation and maintenance of group accounting policies and financial controls Perform allocated group level control and review activities Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts for assigned entities, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations Support the audit process by gathering and preparing required documentation, responding to auditor queries, and coordinating with internal teams to provide timely information Perform initial reviews of statutory accounts and disclosures, identifying any discrepancies and ensuring accuracy Help implement audit recommendations, working closely with senior finance team members to enhance processes and controls where needed Assist with accounting projects, including impairment reviews and business acquisitions, new system integrations, process improvements Background and Experience ICAS/ACCA/ACA qualified or similar Experience in financial reporting, statutory accounts preparation, or similar role Solid understanding of IFRS and their application in financial reporting Proficiency in Excel, experience with ERP systems or financial consolidation software is a plus Exposure to consolidation processes, financial analysis, and external audit (preferred) Knowledge of financial controls frameworks and best practices (preferred) Flexibility and Benefits Flexible working Hybrid working Competitive salary Career progression Free parking Next Steps If you are interested in taking the next step in your career or feel a change of environment or sector is your next path, this could be the ideal job opportunity for you To apply please send a full CV.
