We are an exciting new barbershop start-up set to open at the end of January 2025 in Pease Pottage, Crawley! Our vision is to create a modern, stylish barbershop offering premium grooming services to clients seeking the best in quality and service within the area. Whilst we fit out the new premises during the refurbishment stage, we are looking line up a motivated and experienced barber with the abilities and drive to cut hair, lead our team and help build the shop reputation from the ground up.
Within the space of 18 months from opening, we plan to operate the premises with four - five barbers on a consistent basis. The role will therefore involve monitoring staff performance and ensuring that each barber maintains quality workmanship, punctuality and good housekeeping.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in setting up the shop by implementing ideas on design and layout, and equipment setup
2. Oversee day-to-day operations including shop presentation and staff performance
3. Help with recruitment, training, and managing the team of barbers
4. Ensure a consistently high standard of customer service and grooming quality is upheld
5. Handle customer feedback and resolve any service issues
6. Maintain a clean, welcoming, and professional environment
7. Monitor and manage fridge stock, ensuring all products are sufficiently stocked and maintained
8. Support and implement online marketing initiatives to attract new clients and grow the business
9. Ensure health and safety protocols are strictly adhered to
10. Open up the shop 30 minutes before others arrive to ensure that the premises remains clean and tidy
Requirements:
1. Minimum 3 years of experience as a barber, with excellent cutting, shaving, and grooming skills
2. Previous experience in a management or supervisory role is desirable
3. Strong leadership and communication skills essential for leading a team of different personalities
4. Ability to manage and inspire the team daily
5. Proven customer service skills with a client-focused attitude
6. Good organizational and time-management abilities
7. Passion for the barbering industry and keeping up-to-date with the latest trends
8. Understanding of health and safety regulations
9. Desire to help build the business from the ground up
