Due to an ever-increasing demand for our services, Bromley Healthcare's Children's SLT Service is continuing to expand our fantastic and supportive team.

Main duties of the job
· Develop and provide universal, targeted and specialist speech and language therapy services to patients with speech, language and communication needs.
· Make a differential diagnosis based on evidence from assessment, leading to decisions about intervention/treatment.
· Communicate complex condition-related information to patients/clients, carers, families, and members of the multidisciplinary team.
· Maintain sensitivity to the emotional needs of patients/clients and their carers.
· Negotiate and work closely with patients/clients, carers, families, and other professionals to devise agreed care plans based on best practice.
· Initiate and provide a variety of treatment options according to patient needs, including the use of interpreters as appropriate.
· Use forms of alternative and augmentative communication as indicated from assessment.
· Demonstrate empathy with clients, carers, and families.
· Adapt practice to meet individual patient/client circumstances.
· Form productive relationships with clients who may have challenging communication difficulties.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Recognised speech & language therapy degree qualification or equivalent.
* Successful completion of RCSLT newly qualified competencies.
* Health Professions Council License to practice.
* Registered member of Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists.
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
* Membership of relevant CEN.
* Evidence of appropriate external and internal training.
Experience
* Evidence of developing responsibility for clinic and caseload management.
* Experience of working with other professionals relevant to client groups.
* Pre-school and school age experience.
* Secondary age experience.
Specific Skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Well-developed analytical skills for case load management.
* Highly developed auditory and perceptual skills in assessment and treatment.
* Ability to transcribe speech phonetically.
* Skills in handling clients with disabilities.
* Ability to maintain intense concentration in patient management.
* Well-organised, reflective practitioner.
* UK Drivers license & access to a car for work purposes.

Salary is determined by NHS experience and current banding/pay point. External applicants will begin at the entry point of the salary scale in line with NHS terms and conditions.
