Job Overview: The AMHP will be responsible for conducting Mental Health Act (MHA) assessments, managing risk, and ensuring legal compliance in mental health interventions. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the role involves safeguarding, crisis intervention, and supporting individuals experiencing acute mental health distress. Key Responsibilities: Conduct Mental Health Act assessments and make legal determinations for compulsory treatment. Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, social workers, police, and medical professionals. Manage risk and crisis situations, ensuring appropriate interventions. Advocate for service users' rights, ensuring person-centered care. Safeguarding responsibilities, including risk management and protection planning. Ensure compliance with the Mental Health Act 1983, Care Act 2014, and other relevant legislation. Maintain accurate documentation and case records in line with legal requirements. Requirements: Qualified Social Worker/Nurse/Occupational Therapist with AMHP status. Social Work England/NMC/HCPC registered. Experience in mental health services, crisis intervention, and risk management. Strong knowledge of Mental Health Law and Safeguarding Procedures.
