Nursing Associate or Assistant Practitioner
We have an exciting opportunity to offer a motivated individual interested in working within the Brighton West PCN Community Nursing team, as an Assistant Practitioner with the Foundation Degree, or Qualified Nursing Associate, where they can utilize their experience, skills and talents.
We offer a comprehensive induction programme, and excellent ongoing professional development opportunities, including potential for access to Apprenticeship for Registered Nurse Training.
The team are operational 7 days a week, including Weekends and Bank Holidays, 08:00 - 18:00 so a flexible approach is essential.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work independently with the guidance and direction of the Registered Nurses, to support and deliver a range of clinical activities in line with patients' individual care and treatment plans. The role will include participating in audit, and supporting Healthcare Assistants and student nurses on placements within the team.
A willingness to develop new skills and embrace change is expected. The post holder will need to be able to work autonomously, and demonstrate initiative with sound clinical knowledge and judgement. Applicants must have excellent clinical, communication and team-working skills, a full UK driving license and the use of a car for work purposes is essential. Experience of working in the community would be an advantage.

Job responsibilities
The team provides care to housebound patients who require Community Nursing Care, including wound care, injections, urinary catheterisation, and compression therapy.
The successful candidate will work independently with supervision from a Band 6 Community Sister.
