Long Term Futures are supporting a unique school based in Newark, Nottinghamshire, dedicated to supporting children aged 5-19 with complex SEMH needs and other associated challenges. About the Role As a Teaching Assistant, you will work in a supportive team, helping students who face significant emotional and behavioural challenges. Your role will involve providing 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils access learning, develop resilience and build critical social skills. Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver tailored learning activities for individual students or small groups. Monitor student progress throughout the day, recording and reporting on developments. Work closely with staff and other professionals to provide relevant information about pupils and support their learning. Assist in promoting students' social and emotional well-being. Encourage positive behaviour and self-esteem in students. Support pupils' individual learning needs, including handwriting practice and subject delivery. Ensure student engagement is documented and provide daily reports using the school's template.What We're Looking For A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is highly desirable. Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH or special educational needs (SEN). Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students, staff and families.
