Paediatric Healthcare Assistant Supporting a tracheostomy ventilated child at school from Monday to Friday 8.45am to 4.45pm Hourly Pay:£11.55 Location: Wickford Day Shift: Monday to Friday 8.45am to 4.45pm (term time) Join our team as a Paediatric Health Care Assistant, where you’ll play a key role in supporting a young, tracheostomy and ventilator dependant client. While requiring specialist care, she likes to go to school and learn something new every day. Your role will involve supporting her at school, enabling her to engage in a variety of activities, and helping her to enjoy her independence safely and confidently. You will also be expected to make sure, her airway is protected at all times and have an opportunity to gain many clinical skills along the way. Here is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with a child, supporting their growth and enabling them to participate fully in school and community life. Full training and ongoing support will be provided to ensure you feel prepared and empowered to succeed in the role. Your Responsibilities: As a Paediatric Healthcare Assistant, you’ll tailor your care to meet the specific needs of your client while encouraging her independence. Your responsibilities include: - Supporting her attendance and active participation in school activities. - Providing specialist medical care when required, such as managing ventilation care and tracheostomy care and gastrostomy needs. - Ensuring her mobility and independence are supported safely while fostering confidence and self-reliance. Experience and Training: While previous experience in the following areas is beneficial, full training will be provided for suitable candidates: - tracheostomy care paediatric (routine change and emergency change) - Invasive ventilation care - Gastrostomy Replacement What We’re Looking For: We’re seeking individuals who are: - Patient, empathetic, and able to adapt to the needs of a complex care child - Enthusiastic about working with children and supporting their development in school and the community. - Physically capable of managing the demands of a complex care child Supporting you Being a Sonderwell carer isn’t just about caring.
