Introduction Our client is looking for an experienced Air Safety Consultant who has experience reviewing Aircraft against Military aviation safety standards. They don’t manufacture anything themselves, so they are able to offer impartial safety advice and management solutions. The successful candidate will provide guidance and direction in the development of aviation certification, airworthiness, and safety management solutions for clients. You will need experience with MAA Regulatory Publications (MRP), Military Air System Certification Process (MACP) and Defence Standard 00-970, Certification Specifications (CS) or Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs). This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days per week in the office/ on client sites. Key responsibilities Review and assess complex system design against compliance needs for a variety of military air systems. Provide guidance and leadership both internally and externally to achieve programme needs. Lead major certification management assignments for clients. The provision of safety, airworthiness, technical evaluation, and certification artefacts. Perform assurance of work undertaken by project teams. Provide a vision of future needs to support the development of capability. You will provide and lead key presentations, working closely with clients and be trusted to develop and implement strategies to solve their most complex problems. Skills & experience Previous experience in an Air Safety/Airworthiness role within Defence. Understanding and application of MAA Regulatory Publications (MRP). Understanding and application of the Military Air System Certification Process (MACP), and in particular assessing AMCs, establishing MCRIs, TCBs and TCEs. Understanding and application of Airworthiness codes such as Defence Standard 00-970, Certification Specifications (CS) or Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs). Understanding and application of military aviation hazard/accident management. Understanding and application of ASPIRE and AET Process 08. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Chartered/Incorporated Engineer or equivalent or working towards is desired. Experienced in development of Airworthiness Strategies / Certification Management Plans. Working Knowledge of Industry and other Defence Standards such as Def Stan 00-056. Additional benefits Pension up to 10% client contribution.
