As System Integration Programme Manager you'll provide professional project and programme management leadership for the HS2 Systems Integration Team. Key to the role is the management of systems integration activities using best practice project management and project controls methods, including planning, tracking, reporting and risk management to drive success outcomes for the team. About the role: Act as the programme manager for systems integration workstreams, ensuring that work is well planned, delivered on time and reported against. Coordinate production of monthly progress reports with the technical leads of each systems integration workstream. Maintain a Systems Integration dashboard and performance metrics for use in regular delivery update meetings. Provide a best practice target model on reporting and metrics, and continuously improve the quality of the management information month-on-month. Lead the scheduling activities of the systems integration team (working with a specialist planner) to ensure that the workstreams are well planned, resourced and align with the overall HS2 programme. Track the key milestones related to systems integration delivery within the wider programme milestones. Lead the Systems Integration process for risk and opportunity management (working with a specialist risk and issues coordinator), ensuring that there is robust execution of both the top down corporate risk process and also the bottom technical risk and issues management process; Support the HS2 Head of Systems Integration with broader and long-term planning horizons, related to achieving HS2's overall goals and for the integration partner and stakeholder organisations which impact on successful systems integration. Support the HS2 Head of Systems Integration with the management of stakeholders and there controlled interaction with the systems integration work; Support the HS2 Head of Systems Integration with the project management, cost and scheduling of professional services contracts and consultants who are working with HS2. About You: Skills: Project management - the ability to develop, plan and integrate projects to optimise target costs and project benefits. Skills profile aligned to APM Project Manager (advanced). Problem solving - identifying problems and reviewing related information to manage the development and evaluation of options and the implementation of solutions. This includes the management and planning of multiple workstreams, considering the competing demands of stakeholders, cost, time and quality. Decision Quality - identifying the necessary information, managing the gathering and synthesising of that information, facilitating the identification of options and the application of judgement based on logic and reason. Clear direction - Analysing inputs, assessing data, defining strategies and documenting supporting rationales. Influencing & Negotiating Skills - including internal functions and external supply chain partners. Knowledge: Understanding of the project/programme management knowledge aligned to the level of APM Project Manager (advanced) Understanding the relationship between contract reporting, project cost reporting, programme and business reporting and the criticality of this to business performance Understanding of risk identification and management Understanding of project schedule management, dependencies and risk assessment Understanding of the technical elements and architecture of the relevant scope of work within the overall HS2 programme Understanding of system engineering processes such as requirements management, interface management, configuration management and system assurance. Understanding of the nature of the relevant contract structures and the design and application of appropriate contract and supplier performance systems. Degree level qualification in project management, engineering, commercial management or the equivalent experience. Type of experience: Experience of the entire project lifecycle including planning, procuring, developing and implementing railways systems project activities. Experience of working across functions and disciplines to deliver complex objectives Experience of supporting, developing and managing people directly and in a matrix environment.
