Job Overview To provide reception duties to the Theatre Department, ensuring that each caller/visitor is greeted courteously and efficiently and directed to the correct recipient. To provide clerical assistance to the department as outlined within the scope of duties and responsibilities. Main duties of the job Provide a friendly and comprehensive reception service to all staff visiting the department. Undertake efficient reception duties e.g. answering the phone and receiving people at the reception desk. To deal efficiently and courteously with colleagues and visitors at all times as per departmental standards. Visitors to the department include; staff from other areas, company representatives, visiting medical staff and patient relatives (some of whom, may be in a state of distress). Deal courteously with telephone calls and enquires and relay messages in an efficient manner as service standard. Processing urgent referrals. Assist with general clerical duties, including distributing incoming mail.To be responsible for accurately inputting data onto relevant databases and to collate data for the purpose of clinical audit. Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team within the department, to help maintain patient flow through theatre. Maintain appropriate access to the clinical area, overseeing visitor access and recording in the theatre visitor book. Responsible for signing of delivery/collection service requisitions of medical equipment and informing relevant staff accordingly. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
