The Head of Regulatory Engagement & Reporting will be fostering positive relationships with regulatory authorities, ensuring compliance with reporting obligations, and providing strategic guidance on regulatory matters
Leading the management of regulatory interactions with The Pensions Regulator (principally for master trust supervision), the FCA and PRA, TPAS, The Pensions Ombudsman and FOS.
Responsibilities:
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities, acting as the primary point of contact for regulatory inquiries and examinations
• Proactively engage with regulators to stay informed about changes in regulations, anticipate regulatory trends, and communicate potential impacts to the organization
• Provide strategic advice on regulatory matters to senior leadership and relevant stakeholders
• Collaborate with legal, compliance, and business units to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory landscape and its impact on business operations
• Oversee the timely and accurate submission of all regulatory reports required by applicable laws and regulatory bodies
• Ensure compliance with reporting standards and guidelines, identifying and mitigating reporting risks
• Coordinate and manage regulatory audits and examinations, ensuring the organization is well-prepared and responsive to regulatory requests
• Work closely with internal audit and compliance teams to address and resolve regulatory findings
• Identify opportunities to enhance regulatory engagement processes and reporting procedures
• Implement improvements based on lessons learned from regulatory interactions and changes in the regulatory environment
• To produce high quality written reports and face-to-face briefing for senior managers / governance board as required
• Working with the Compliance Director to develop the approach to regulatory / product assurance and reporting to different Leadership Groups and other governance boards
• Writing reports and presenting findings to different Leadership Groups and Boards including the Trustees of The People’s Pension
• On occasion deputising for the Compliance Director where appropriate
Qualifications:
• Extensive experience in a senior regulatory role with a focus on engagement and reporting
• In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and reporting requirements applicable to the organization
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including the ability to build and lead a high-performing teamResults-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
