Our client is a global aerospace manufacturer based in Tamworth. THey are seeking a UK Import Compliance & Logistics Coordinator to ensure that the business is in full compliance with the import and export laws of the United Kingdom and all countries where they do business. You will report into the Supply Chain Manager with a dotted line to the Global Director of Trade Compliance. You will proactively work with BU Trade Compliance Personnel, Corporate Compliance Personnel, and International Transportation to minimize risk and ensure efficient and effective processes for import activities. UK Import Compliance & Logistics Co-Ordinator Tamworth Permanent Monday – Friday (8.30am – 5.00pm) & Friday 8.30am – 14.30pm) UK Import Compliance & Logistics Co-Ordinator Job Description Under the direction of the Global Director of Trade Compliance, we assist with overall responsibility for the customs compliance of approximately $125 million annual transactions. Oversee import transactions, policies and procedures with a strategic focus to streamline efficiencies, eliminate waste, and utilise emerging tools and technologies with a focus on customer satisfaction and cost containment while ensuring compliance with regulations. Develop and maintain a country specific import matrix to include classifications, license requirements and shipment restrictions, including leading UK reclassification projects. Coordinate with the Global Trade Compliance for division wide visibility. Deal with customers, suppliers, plants, BU and RU personnel as well as government agencies in response to general inquiries on import shipments i.e. HMRC Work with Customs Brokers to expedite clearance of products; provide documented feedback to brokers on operational/compliance-related matters; and conduct post-entry/post-shipment audit of imports. Monitor and track all import notifications received, identifying and communicating to the Tamworth team any issues, including unexpected delays to arrival time Review inbound documentation against open purchase orders for accuracy Complete internal/advise of import documentation to ensure full traceability and compliance Monitor and release material through Descartes (HMRC) system for material movements from bonded status to IPR and update batches on GTS system UK Import Compliance & Logistics Co-Ordinator Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications Minimum three (3) – five (5) years of experience in import compliance or similar government role. Familiarity with a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge and working understanding of international trade rules and regulations, including customs compliance, process control and internal audits. (Classification, Customs entry process, customs invoicing requirements, valuation, Incoterms). Experience with European Customs Authorities, international logistics and Customs broker management. Solid computer skills: MS Office Suite and experience with a GTM system a plus. Knowledge of working with Bonded warehouse, IPR and HMRC processes.
