Thorn Lighting are now recruiting for a Head of Application for our Indoor lighting brands within Industry, Transportation and Retail. In this role the main objective of this role is to strategically develop the Application competency to build market relevant offerings in order to support growth for luminaires, connectivity- and control-solutions, Emergency Lighting systems.
This position can be based in either of our UK locations and the role holder will report to the Product Management Director for Indoor Luminaires. The right individual brings extensive expertise and know-how spanning across the application verticals and its sub-application components.
You will be versed in defining, planning and executing a strategic business development long-term plan, aligning with the key stakeholders - major customers, business influencers, sales and G-KAM as well as product managers.
Main tasks of the role are:
1. Be the business owner of the strategic application revenue, investments, and profitability.
2. Responsibility for a portion of the THORN application portfolio, roadmap, pricing strategy and partner-relationships.
3. Develop single products up to E2E solutions with compelling value proposition and competitive differentiation.
4. Keep abreast of market & technology trends to define growth themes with market relevance.
5. Build and run campaigns in collaboration with sales and G-KAM teams to drive new solutions & demand generation.
6. Work in close co-ordination with the sales and G-KAM teams to manage the pre-sales process with customers.
7. Provide domain leadership throughout the sales-cycle from initial qualification to closure of deals.
Your profile We are looking for:
8. You will have a background in Product Management ideally from the lighting industry.
9. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, innovation management or business administration, marketing or other related fields.
10. A clear understanding of how to shape, reposition, develop and rank a product portfolio of leading industry brands.
11. Excellent quantitative and analytical skills for current and future requirements of products to be covered.
