JOB – CAD/CAM Programmer
LOCATION – Stoke-On-Trent
TERM – Permanent
SALARY – £30,000 to £40,000 per annum (plus benefits)
My client is a well-established Engineering company specialising in precision components and bespoke manufacturing solutions for a variety of industries. They are looking to grow their production team by taking on a CAD/CAM Programmer to work in their Stoke-On-Trent facility.
The CAD/CAM Programmer will ideally have the following attributes:
• Previous experience in a CAD/CAM programming role within an engineering or manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with software such as EdgeCAM, Fusion 360, Mastercam, or similar
• Strong understanding of CNC machining processes (milling and turning)
• Able to interpret technical drawings and engineering schematics
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• NVQ, HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in Engineering or Manufacturing (preferred)
The CAD/CAM Programmer role will involve:
• Programming CNC machines using CAD/CAM software to meet engineering specifications
• Supporting the production team with efficient tooling and machining strategies
• Creating and modifying 3D models and 2D drawings for manufacture
• Working closely with engineers, machinists, and quality teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency
• Optimising machining processes to improve cycle times and reduce waste
• Maintaining and updating documentation for traceability and process control
