Purpose of Role
Are you ready to make a difference in global security? Rapiscan Systems, an industry leader in detection technology, is seeking a dedicated Bid Manager to join our International Bid Team. We provide cutting-edge cargo and vehicle inspection systems and services to combat terrorism, drug smuggling, illegal immigration, and trade fraud.
Responsibilities
* Support the Sales Lead in driving technical and commercial bid/tender responses to improve sales success rates.
* Manage the bidding interface between departments including Sales, Engineering, PMO, Logistics, and those with sign-off responsibility.
* Provide transparency to risks within opportunities and work with stakeholders to provide mitigations.
* Translate technical specifications into winning bid material with the assigned technical leads.
* Develop and communicate best practice processes for bids, tenders, proposals, and direct sales.
* Ensure adherence to the Rapiscan bid process in line with best practice.
* Continuously improve the bid process and educate stakeholders involved in the tender and response process.
* Produce compliant proposals that respond to specific client needs through liaison with SMEs.
* Ensure timely proposal submissions against a Proposal Management Plan or Resource Allocation Table.
* Contribute to the maintenance of the bid library.
* Organize and chair formal bid reviews and communicate commercial issues to stakeholders.
* Ensure thorough and complete bid qualification.
Qualifications
* At least 3 years in a Bid Coordinator or Bid Management role.
* Experience in preparing proposals through the whole bid lifecycle from bid evaluation to award.
* Ability to work across all spectrums of proposal development including risk assessment, costing/pricing, contract analysis, technical input, authoring, and all tasks required for successful tender submission.
* International bidding experience is an advantage.
* Flexibility and willingness to work outside of normal hours and travel out of country if required.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present information to internal and external stakeholders including senior management and customers.
* Experience producing bids in a highly regulated industry.
* Working experience with multidisciplinary teams including PMO, estimating, engineering, financial control, and commercial management disciplines.
* Ability to lead multidisciplinary bid teams to achieve tight deadlines in a pressured environment.
* Strong commercial awareness.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
* Ability to prioritize and work on multiple bids concurrently.
* Excellent attention to detail.
