The role focuses on developing production and manufacturing processes while designing innovative automation solutions. This role offers the opportunity to apply technical expertise and problem-solving skills across multidisciplinary teams and two production sites in the UK and Czechia. Key Responsibilities for the Control Systems Engineer in Clacton On Sea, Essex: Automation Software Development: Develop software for bespoke machinery using off-the-shelf components and custom-designed equipment tailored to production requirements. Automation System Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and prototype innovative automation solutions, optimising production efficiency and processes. System Integration: Integrate automation systems into production lines, troubleshoot compatibility issues, and ensure optimal performance with the support of engineers and technicians. Validation and Testing: Conduct trial runs, analyse results, and implement modifications to achieve reliable, efficient, and safe automation systems. Continuous Improvement: Research and implement new technologies to enhance production efficiency and product quality. Propose upgrades to existing processes using feedback from production teams. Technical Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of all processes and machinery, including updated drawings and models. Essential Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree in electronics, software, control, or a related engineering field (equivalent industry experience will be considered). Strong expertise in PLC programming, preferably using Siemens TIA Portal. Hands-on experience in mechanical design and working with robots and cobots. Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks. Good understanding of basic electronics and experience handling miniature electronic components. Programming skills in Python and C++ are highly desirable. Knowledge of general engineering practices, safety standards, and tooling.
