Production Engineer Annual Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 Location: Poole Job Type: Permanent - Full-timeMy client are seeking a Production Engineer to join their team in Poole. This role involves supporting and improving production techniques, solving technical problems, and enhancing manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical or production engineering, with experience in modern manufacturing methods and continuous improvement practices. Day-to-day of the role: Support and make improvements to production techniques for machining and assembly of components. Assist the production team with technical assistance and problem-solving solutions. Produce programs and set-up sheets for multi-axis CNC machines, including 5-axis turn-mill and milling, and support the prove out of new programs. Develop manufacturing solutions using standardized tooling and production methods. Design cutting tools and work holding solutions to meet production needs. Lead root cause analyses to address defective products and processes, implementing corrective actions for permanent resolutions. Identify waste and lead continuous improvement activities to enhance manufacturing processes. Design jigs and fixtures using CAD software to ensure consistency and efficiency in production. Monitor production output, analyze data, and implement improvement actions to achieve world-class productivity. Liaise with design engineering to review new products and ensure they are fit for efficient manufacture. Maintain and update production-related data in the ERP/MRP system. Coordinate project teams to efficiently deliver project workloads and mentor junior engineers. Required Skills & Qualifications: Qualified to HNC level or equivalent in Mechanical or Production Engineering, with substantial experience in an engineering role. Proficient in designing jigs and fixtures using CAD (preferably 3D). Experienced in using continuous improvement tools and techniques such as VSM, SMED, TPM, Kaizen, 5S, and error-proofing. Skilled in project management and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Flexible and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
