About the Role
Reporting to the Principal Officer, Buildings, Structural, Civils & Marine, the Senior Officer will assist in delivering an integrated buildings, structural and civils engineering function for existing and refurbished assets to the Merseytravel estate within a matrix structure (utilising internal labour force or external resources as appropriate) to deliver the following outcomes for Merseytravel.
The Senior Officer will be responsible for managing suppliers and contractors to ensure that they deliver on time and within budget to meet client requirements.
About the Person
The Senior Officer should have a relevant HNC or equivalent qualification or demonstrable experience of estate maintenance in a multi-disciplinary environment while ensuring the safe, reliable operation and utilisation of the estate. The role requires an understanding of the Health and Safety duties required for running large commercial building/construction contracts and be conversant with environmental legislation and codes of practice. The Senior Officer should have basic knowledge of industry-specific contracts and their relevance and suitability to building and construction projects, be commercially aware and must possess the ability to negotiate and deliver commercial contracts. The candidate must be computer literate with a high degree of ICT skills, have a flexible approach to work, and have excellent communication skills.
