We have a very exciting role We are currently recruiting on behalf of an Energy and Environmental Consultancy for a Energy Engineer to join their team in Birmingham. Reporting into the Climate Change Engineering Manager, you will be working with a wide range of industrial clients, who operate a broad range of manufacturing processes, across the UK; helping them to reduce their carbon emissions, achieve energy reduction targets and establish a path toward net zero. You will be comfortable visiting industrial sites, mapping out the manufacturing processes, identifying and quantifying energy consumption profiles across those sites. You will be responsible for maintaining client relationships and will manage your own portfolio whilst also providing support on larger clients / projects. Primary Duties Collection of energy & production data and the generation of reports necessary to monitor performance against specific energy reduction targets Assessment of manufacturing processes and energy use that may be entitled to reduced energy taxes Compilation and submission of application documentation to secure energy tax reduction Undertaking energy audits to quantify energy use and CO2 emissions and to identify opportunities for reduction Assisting sites with initial planning and ongoing management of structured programs to reduce energy/CO2 emissions Assist with design/project work to identify most energy efficient solutions to plant replacement and/or improvements Managing client relationships and taking ownership of project delivery Other project work – this is a dynamic role in a fast-developing industry Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Essential Criteria: Educated to degree level in an engineering or scientific discipline or equivalent Experience of working in an industrial engineering or energy engineering setting A strong interest in energy efficiency, climate change and helping clients reach Net Zero Ability to interpret and provide insight from energy, cost and carbon data Excellent communication, analytical and numerical skills Proficient user of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel Full UK driving licence and own transport Must be willing to travel as and when required within the UK Valid right to work in the UK Desirable Criteria: Experience in measurement and verification of energy and carbon measures Working knowledge of renewable energy systems and on-site generation (CHP, tri-generation) Experience of management systems such as ISO 50001
