Director of Finance and Resources - Saint Francis Hospice
Are you passionate about organisational excellence and outstanding and compassionate support to people with palliative and end of life care needs? If so, we would love to welcome you to our executive leadership team as we enter a new and exciting chapter.
Who we are
Saint Francis Hospice, rated outstanding by the CQC, is an expert in providing care for people in our community with palliative and end of life care needs. We provide support and care for any person from any faith or cultural background diagnosed with a serious life-limiting illness and living in Havering, Barking and Dagenham, Redbridge, Brentwood or parts of West Essex. Saint Francis Hospice has been offering expert, compassionate advice and support for over 40 years.
This is an incredibly exciting time to join the hospice. Having recently welcomed our new Chief Executive and with a bold new strategy launching in the spring, we have many exciting priorities ahead, including a renovation and major upgrade of our ward unit, a continued focus on service quality and innovation, as well as growth in reach, a new people strategy and an ambition to achieve even greater financial sustainability.
About the role
The Director of Finance and Resources will take a pivotal role in shaping change for the hospice with strategic responsibility for finance, digital, estates, and the transformation of the estate’s footprint through capital projects and upgrades to the environment, governance, risk management, contracts, and for ensuring long-term financial viability.
You will be responsible for the hospice’s governance and risk management frameworks, creating a robust and appropriate internal controls environment, and ensuring that all statutory and regulatory requirements are met and policies and procedures are followed.
The Director of Finance and Resources will provide leadership and development to the teams within the portfolio, responding flexibly to changing priorities and leading a culture of continuous improvement to support quality improvement and efficient and effective working.
Who we are looking for
While it is essential you have a professional accounting qualification, we’re also looking for candidates with experience in the oversight of digital transformation. You will bring successful experience gained in an executive leadership role of similar scale, with experience managing finance, digital, estate, support services, and health and safety teams.
As a team player, you will be comfortable acting as an ambassador for the hospice and will bring a creative and innovative approach to resolving challenges. Given the environment in which we operate, an understanding of, knowledge of, or experience in the healthcare sector would be an additional advantage.
Above all else, it is critical that our new Director embodies the values of Saint Francis Hospice and is intrinsically aligned to our cause.
