We are looking for a positive, pro-active and reliable person to join our growing practice. In this essential front-line role at the practice, receptionists play a vital role in helping patients to access the right services, assisting with keeping health records accurate and up-to-date and ensuring that appointment bookings are well-managed. This position is for 22 hours worked over 4 days per week Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (morning shifts are 7:30am – 1pm and afternoon shifts are 1pm – 6:30pm). We operate during enhanced hours until 8pm on Mondays and 1pm-5pm on Saturdays. Some degree of flexibility is required as occasionally you will be required to work additional or alternative hours to cover colleagues. The main responsibilities of the role include: Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or over the telephone and email Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice, including the provision of clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies About the Candidate General Practice is a challenging environment that requires a calm and caring approach with the ability to work under pressure.
