Category Manager - FM
Location: West Midlands, Coventry, United Kingdom
Job Type: Contract, Full-Time - initial 6 month contract
Primary Industry: Procurement & Category Management
Salary: GBP600.00 - GBP700.00 Per day, via an Umbrella, inside of IR35 scope.
Job Duties:
* Develop and implement category strategies to optimise procurement processes
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and requirements
* Source and negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement
* Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for improvement
* Manage supplier relationships and resolve any issues that may arise
* Track and report key performance indicators related to category management
Required Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Category Manager or similar role
* Demonstrable expertise in procurement and supply chain management
* Strong negotiation and communication skills
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge and Skills:
* Excellent understanding of procurement best practices and market trends
* Proficiency in contract negotiation and supplier management
* Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions
* Strong project management skills
* Sector experience isn't key, although an understanding of regulated categories would be an advantage
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master's degree in Business Administration or relevant field
* CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) certification
Working Conditions:
The role is 3 days office based (Coventry) with two days working from home.
