Planning Manager - Renewable Energy Project An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planning Manager to lead the design and build of a major new substation in Suffolk, supporting a significant renewable energy project in the Southern North Sea. This project plays a crucial role in Britain's journey toward Net Zero by connecting a major offshore wind farm to the National Grid. The Role: Reporting to the Project Director, the Planning Manager will oversee all planning activities for the project, including: Managing planning processes for significant earthworks, new road infrastructure, reinforced concrete works, and steel-framed superstructures. Ensuring health, safety, and environmental requirements are built into the programme, including documentation, approvals, and competency checks. Developing clear construction stage diagrams and sequences to support safe and efficient project delivery. Identifying risks, contributing to the risk and opportunity register, and building risk allowances into project plans. Collaborating with the estimating and temporary works teams to ensure accurate planning of temporary works and site logistics. Evaluating and challenging suppliers’ and subcontractors’ methodologies and schedules. About You: The ideal candidate will have: A degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience. Proven experience in planning for civil engineering or construction projects. Proficiency in planning software and tools such as Primavera P6, CAD, PowerPoint, and 4Projects. Membership of a professional body such as ICE or APM (desirable). Project Timeline: The project is currently in the design and environmental consent phase, with construction set to begin in spring next year and completion scheduled for December 2027.
