The Senior Executive Officer People Digital and Data will contribute to the effective management and optimisation of the Army workforce through the provision and exploitation of high-quality data and digital systems that provide modern, robust, and innovative services to the Army. Functional leadership is at the heart of the Armys operating model which sees both Military and Civil Service experts providing leadership and assurance around their relevant areas of responsibility. These functional experts provide a fundamental role supporting and enabling the Army to develop its strategies and goals for the future and deliver their current outputs. This role, as an enabler of digital and data improvement, will play a key part in the successful delivery of Army Command Plan outputs. This position is advertised as 37 hours per week. Job description This post is responsible to the Assistant Head People Digital and Data and will support them by ensuring that Army People and Workforce Planning digital and data business requirements are specified, communicated, understood and met through: Digital, Data and AI products, governance and outputs. Changes to existing Human Resource systems, such as Joint Personnel Administration (JPA - military) & MyHR (civil service). The capture, specification and delivery of Army digital and data requirements for the new Defence Human Resource Management System (Def HRS). They will also have responsibilities for data quality, exploitation, governance and assurance across the Army People function. The role requires collaboration with a range of stakeholders and subject matter experts (military and civilian) across, primarily, the Army but also the other Front-Line Commands (Royal Navy, Royal Air Force and Strategic Command), the People Function for Defence, Defence Digital, Defence Business Services (MOD Shared Service Provider) and other suppliers. The role demands a combination of technical expertise, data expertise, user requirements capture and influencing and change management skills, to successfully navigate the complexities of digital system and data user requirement specification, implementation, exploitation and governance. The ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences and providing the right level of detail to stakeholders is key. As a DDAT professional, and supporting the Assistant Head, you will: Understand the data and digital landscapes and the linkages between them. Promote opportunities to foster innovation and coherence through stakeholder engagement. Play an active part in data and digital governance and assurance. Produce business cases and seek Approval through Army and Centre approval mechanisms. Represent the Army People Function at change prioritisation and governance meetings. Represent Army Requirements on multiservice or Defence projects, such as Joint Personnel Administration (JPA). Understand the options available to deliver data and digital change. Understand Data Quality processes and assurance. Understand the implications of UKGDPR for the processing of people data and the design of systems that process such data.
