My client is an established, leading National Civil Engineering Contractor.
Due to planned growth, they are presently looking to recruit, on a permanent basis, a Contracts Manager with a solid background in Marine Civil Engineering Projects.
They have recently been awarded two projects on the Thames totalling £11m that start next year with additional opportunities on the Thames, Erith (circa £30m), Folkestone, Sussex (various locations), and Faversham.
The ideal candidate would need to be familiar with coastal & maritime projects, piling, and sea defence.
The company operates throughout the UK and specializes in the following sectors:
* Infrastructure
* Marine Civil Engineering
* Water & Wastewater
* Buildings
The ideal candidate would reside between Crawley, South London, and Maidstone in order to navigate the region, which broadly covers contracts from London into the counties of Surrey, East & West Sussex, and Kent.
Duties:
1. Management of the Project/Site Manager, site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
2. Production of monthly reports and liaison with the Senior QS (Quantity Surveyor) and Site QS.
3. Ensure production, review, and monitor the delivery of the project/site health, safety, environment & quality plans.
4. Develop effective relationships with clients to maximize the perception & reputation of the business and secure profitable work.
5. Taking responsibility for a contract at handover from the estimator.
6. Plan & monitor resource requirements.
7. Promote a culture of integration, continuous improvement, and use of best practices.
8. Being the first point of reference for leadership site issues.
Civil Engineering experience required:
1. Strong knowledge of Marine Civil Engineering projects.
2. HSE (Health and Safety Executive) legislation knowledge.
