Job Purpose: The Finance Controller will take full ownership of the company’s financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, accurate financial reporting, and efficient financial planning. This role will also involve overseeing VAT, payroll, and banking processes, ensuring seamless financial management to support the company’s strategic goals and working closely with the CEO. Key Responsibilities: Financial Management and Reporting: •Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and monthly management accounts. •Develop and maintain robust financial policies, procedures, and controls. •Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards •Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts and liaise with external accountants and auditors. •Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making. Invoicing and Accounts Management: •Oversee the invoicing process to ensure accurate and timely issuance of customer invoices. •Monitor accounts receivable and ensure timely collection of outstanding payments. •Manage accounts payable, ensuring payments to suppliers are made on time and accurately. •Resolve invoicing queries or disputes with customers and suppliers efficiently VAT and Tax Compliance: •Manage all VAT processes, including preparation, submission, and reconciliation of VAT returns. •Ensure compliance with all HMRC regulations, keeping up-to-date with changes in tax legislation. •Oversee corporation tax, PAYE, and other tax-related obligations. Payroll Management: •Oversee the preparation and processing of payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements. •Manage pension contributions and other payroll-related obligations. •Ensure timely submission of RTI (Real-Time Information) to HMRC. Banking and Cash Flow Management: •Manage banking relationships and oversee all company banking activities, including reconciliations and transactions. •Monitor and forecast cash flow to ensure the business maintains adequate liquidity. •Oversee credit control and accounts payable to optimize working capital. Budgeting and Forecasting: •Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to develop realistic budgets aligned with business objectives. •Prepare and maintain rolling financial forecasts to adapt to changing market conditions. •Track performance against budgets and provide variance analysis with recommendations for corrective action. Leadership and Team Management: •Fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. •Collaborate with senior management to provide financial expertise and strategic guidance. •Drive process improvements across finance operations to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Education: ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or equivalent). Experience: •At least 2 years in a senior finance role, with experience in VAT, reporting, budgeting, payroll, and banking
