Who You Are A qualified social worker with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, possessing recognized social work qualifications. Registered with Social Care Wales, or willing to register to work in Conwy County Borough Council. Proficient in technology and software relevant to social work practice. Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills. Resilient, proactive, and capable of working within a demanding setting. Ability to communicate effectively in English, with awareness and sensitivity to Welsh culture. Communicating in Welsh is desirable. Holds a current driving license and possesses the ability to travel for work requirements. What the Job Involves Providing a high quality social work service to children and families identified as having unmet needs or at risk of significant harm. Conducting assessments in accordance with statute, national, and regional guidelines. Developing effective partnerships with colleagues across various services to ensure integrated support for service users. Maintaining professional accountability and ensuring compliance with statutory guidelines, including safeguarding procedures. Engaging with children and their families to develop resilience and independence, ensuring active participation in all decision-making processes. Managing a varied caseload independently and efficiently, ensuring all tasks and communications are completed in a timely manner. Preparing and presenting reports at strategy meetings and court proceedings. Ensuring adherence to Health and Safety practices within daily operations. Promoting anti-discriminatory and non-oppressive practice in all interactions. Participating in professional development, supervision, and performance reviews to uphold and enhance professional standards. Actively supporting the principles of equality of opportunity as per the Council’s Equalities Policy. This role is temporarily available within the Children, Families, and Safeguarding Service, located in Coed Pella, Colwyn Bay, and is expected to last approximately 12 weeks with potential for extension.
