Wood is looking for a full-time Principal Estimator to join our busy team based in Aberdeen, Scotland. We offer a flexible hybrid working pattern. This position can be offered as staff or LTD Co.
The role involves the preparation, review, and submission of accurate estimates of how much it will cost to provide a client or potential client with services. This ensures accurate budgeting and planning can take place, supporting the robust control of projects throughout their lifecycle to ensure the project can be delivered profitably.
Responsibilities include the development of project estimates and ensuring they are prepared to the required level of detail and accuracy in accordance with contractual requirements and Wood policies, procedures, and standards. The Principal Estimator will support more senior members of the estimating team in the management and development of the estimating team, the management of the contract or project estimating norms, and the preparation and filing of project estimate documentation.
The role may act as the focal point for several project scopes and is responsible for identifying areas of best practice and driving continuous improvement within the Estimating team.
Minimum Requirements
* Typically requires ISCED level 6 (Bachelors) Degree in a relevant technical or business discipline (or equivalent gained through relevant vocational training and/or industry experience).
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
* A good level of experience in progressive industries and estimating positions.
* Thorough knowledge of estimating techniques and systems with a detailed knowledge of how these are applied.
* Excellent understanding of project management principles and techniques.
* Strong understanding of Cost Management, Change Control, Planning & Risk Analysis & Management.
* Prior experience in a Senior Estimating role.
