Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Blacksmith/Fabricator Welder to join our team. This role involves crafting, fabricating, and repairing metal structures and components. The ideal candidate will combine problem solving with precision engineering to produce high-quality, bespoke metalwork for clients across a variety of industries, including decorative ironwork, structural fabrications, and custom projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Fabrication: Interpret technical drawings and plans to fabricate metal products to specification.
• Blacksmithing: Utilize traditional forge techniques to shape and manipulate metal into bespoke designs.
• Welding: Perform MIG, TIG, and ARC welding to assemble components and repair metal structures.
• Metal Finishing: Grind, polish, and finish metalwork to meet quality standards.
• Repairs: Restore and repair damaged or corroded metal structures, including decorative items and tools.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Collaboration: Carry out site survey for repairs, propose solutions to issues on site and assist with quoting and planning of works.
• Inventory Management: Maintain tools, materials, and workspace in excellent condition.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a blacksmith, fabricator, or welder.
• Strong proficiency in MIG, TIG, and ARC welding techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, CAD drawings, and schematics.
• Creativity and artistic flair for bespoke and decorative projects.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
• Physical fitness and stamina for manual labour in demanding environments.
• Must have valid UK driving licence.
• Will require security pass for government and police sites (will be provided by company)
Desirable Attributes:
• Experience with CNC machines or other advanced fabrication technologies.
• Knowledge of heritage restoration projects or architectural metalwork.
• Certification in welding or fabrication (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ).
