We have an exciting opportunity for a Waiting List Coordinator to join the team, to actively assist the department in the efficient and effective management of the outpatient/inpatient waiting lists in line with both national and local standards.
Working alongside the Scheduler, you will work alongside another Waiting List Coordinator who will each look after a group of consultant's clinic/theatre lists. You will be responsible for ensuring clinic and theatre lists are fully utilised and waiting lists are well managed in order of clinical priority.
We are looking for someone with good organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work under pressure and a good communicator with medical, nursing and admin colleagues who has the patient at the heart of everything they do. Someone with a good knowledge of Lorenzo, in particular how to create a new clinic, cancelling clinics due to leave and booking patients from access plans would be an advantage. Training can be provided on the surgical bookings processes if you don't already have experience in this.
Main duties of the job
* To be responsible for the administration of the department's outpatient/inpatient waiting lists, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
* Robustly manage a PTL against local and national waiting times as well as working to meet Dermatology Key Performance Indicators.
* Use appropriate booking processes to facilitate the admission of patients adding, removing, appointing and suspending patients to and from the outpatient/inpatient waiting lists.
* Using Lorenzo, take the lead responsibility for building new clinics and amending existing clinics to include clinic cancellations and reopening clinics in line with department capacity including liaising with consultants to provide extra clinic capacity to ensure department meets local and national targets.
* Be responsible for managing consultant and junior doctor annual leave requests ensuring any issues are escalated to the Operational Manager.
* Manage review lists for follow up patients who require further investigations or follow up ensuring that these are completed in the time specified by the medical & nursing team.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* 4 GCSE's including Maths and English grades 9-4 /A-C or equivalent
* ECDL
* NVQ level III in Business Admin
Experience
* Experience in an acute hospital
* Experience of managing patient waiting time targets including 18 week RTT and cancer wait times
* Experience of working with Doctors and other clinical staff
* An ability to work effectively with colleagues from a range of disciplines
* Determination and resilience of meeting objectives and deadlines
* Clear understanding of NHS clinical and operational systems
* Outline knowledge of other departments that make up Surgical Services
* Understanding of relevant Trust Policies and ability to ensure compliance
* Extensive experience of waiting list coordination
* Experience of populating and coordinating a theatre list
Further Training

Salary: £26,530 to £29,114 a year (pro rata for part time staff)
