We are seeking an Engineering Team Leader who is proactive, detail-oriented, and experienced in engineering maintenance, particularly within the food manufacturing industry.
As the Engineering Team Leader, you will lead and supervise your team while ensuring the smooth operation of your shift. The ideal candidate will lead by example and drive a culture of continuous improvement, motivating the engineering team to deliver sustainable reliability of equipment through proactive maintenance. You will take ownership of the department whilst on shift, maintaining systems essential to the operation of an efficient engineering department.
Shift Pattern: 2 Days 2 Nights ON & 4 OFF 07:00 - 19:00 / 19:00 - 07:00
What you'll be doing:
1. Execute planned and unplanned maintenance activities to agreed standards.
2. Ensure all site assets are maintained to a high standard, meet site requirements, and are available at all times.
3. Ensure a robust and clearly communicated safe system of work is applied for all activities that you undertake.
4. Ensure engineering stock control on all parts used - booked out and accounted for correctly within the required systems.
5. Coach, train, and give understanding to production colleagues to achieve continual improvements in equipment knowledge/performance.
The successful Engineering Team Leader candidate must hold an electrical qualification of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent as a minimum and be 17th edition certified. You must be an excellent fault finder and have strong mechanical skills with a good working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLCs. The role is crucial to the efficient running of our client's manufacturing site, and therefore you will be required to demonstrate excellent communication skills when liaising with internal departments and external contractors. Ideally, you'll have experience of working with food processing and packaging equipment; however, familiarisation training on this specialist equipment can be provided for the right candidate.
