Finance Manager (260jc) – Ross-on-Wye – up to £60k + Benefits
This international Operations Management company is now seeking a Finance Manager to become a key part of their team based in Ross-on-Wye.

You will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will be responsible for the day-to-day management and training of a small 4-person team in delivering efficient and effective financial support to Operations and the broader group. This hands-on management role entails direct engagement in monthly project reporting, including collation, review, and oversight of periodic reporting for the group’s project portfolio.
In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for senior management across operational and support functions based in the UK. A strong emphasis of the role is to foster collaboration, build capability and reliability in the numbers, and to ensure project/management accounting and transactional services add value to the broader business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, manage and develop a small team responsible for project accounting, transaction processing, and management reporting.
* Ownership of the financials for the group’s project portfolio, including collation and review of budgets and forecasts, maintenance of project-related accounting records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards (UK GAAP and IFRS).
* Production of monthly management accounts for operations in line with group financial reporting requirements, including commentary of key points, explanations, reconciliations, and analysis.
* Preparation of monthly consolidation of project-related financial results for reporting to the CFO, Director International Operations, and CEO.
* Production of regular cashflow forecasting with analysis, recommendations, and commentary explaining key movements, risks, issues, and opportunities.
* Lead project and overhead-related cashflow management, including liaison with the group corporate accountant and banking partners.
* Preparation of operational budgets, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
* Consolidation of monthly project reports for management and Board reporting packs.
* Co-ordinate the completion of the monthly funding cycle.
* Ad hoc analysis of Project Scenarios.
* Focal point for all Finance ERP related issues and improvements.
* Point of contact for the Group to all UK banks.
* Support the Corporate Accountant in the year-end audit process.
* Oversee project-related tax compliance.
* Ensure completion of contractor payroll on time and accurately.
* Providing finance support and advice to the operational teams.
* Other duties as directed by the CFO or CEO.

Minimum Requirements:
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
* Strong management accounting background
* Experience working in a project-based business
* Leading a team and managing staff
* Working knowledge of UK GAAP and UK tax regulations
* Ability to prioritise effectively and deliver to tight deadlines
* Ability to lead, manage and mentor staff
* Strong understanding of IT systems and high level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel
* Effective communication with finance and non-finance personnel
* Presentation and analysis of key financial matters
The ideal candidate would live within a reasonable commute from their offices, with some flexibility for remote work. They are seeking someone from an AGC (SPS) or similar background who has produced financial and management accounts for a unit, or someone who has moved into the finance arena since leaving the forces. The key for this role is the man management and process management experience.
In return, they offer a starting salary circa £50 to £60k, a 36.5 hr week, flexible working, 25 days leave + Bank Holidays, life assurance, private medical, and a company pension scheme, along with opportunities for international travel.
