About ZAVA
We're on a mission to provide our patients with healthcare that is accessible and dependable at a fraction of today's cost.
Our team of Doctors, Engineers, Customer Support Advisors, Marketers, Product Managers, UX Designers, Pharmacists, and Commercial & Operations Specialists work collaboratively to develop and maintain a digital healthcare platform that provides our patients with healthcare that suits their needs & schedules.
The pandemic changed our lives, requiring us to find flexible, remote, and innovative healthcare solutions to meet our needs during challenging and changeable periods. Many of our patients turned to telemedicine as a convenient solution to getting their healthcare online from the comfort of their homes. Through delivering a safe and efficient digital healthcare service, we've provided over 11 million consultations across the UK, Germany, France, and Ireland, enabling millions of people with essential access to healthcare when they need it most.
It's our motivation to continue fulfilling their needs and to expand further to meet the needs of others, ensuring we're always there with the latest tech, treatments, and advice. Because we're doing more than providing healthcare, we're enabling & empowering people by making healthcare work for them.
We’re here because we care about healthcare and we plan to be the largest digital primary healthcare platform for people across Europe.
About the role
We’re looking for a GPhC registered Junior Pharmacist who is tech-savvy, eager to learn, and interested in how the healthcare industry is evolving within the digital world. This is a great opportunity to work in an unusual pharmacy setting as our working environment differs greatly from traditional pharmacies. Please note this is not a patient-facing role, as all of our pharmacy services are provided at a distance to patients across the UK.
Our pharmacy is based within our Milton Keynes warehouse from which we dispatch medications to our UK patients. This position is perfect for a forward-thinking candidate interested in growing their experience within a scale-up environment.
What you can expect from working with us
* Gaining expertise in digital pharmacy
* Work closely with our London Pharmacy and clinical team on service provision
* Weekly protected time for self-directed learning
* Annual training budget
* Ongoing support for CPD
* Team annual social budget
* Exposure to expertise of non-clinical staff members in a cross-functional setting
* Carrying out audits and being empowered to improve processes as a result
Key Accountabilities
* Working in our remote pharmacy: delivering products and services directly to the UK market. This involves safely and efficiently labelling, dispensing, and checking medication against digitally signed prescriptions, all in line with the current legal, professional, and ethical frameworks.
* Confidently assume the role of Responsible Pharmacist (RP): understand the accountabilities of an RP and work closely alongside our small pharmacy team to safely provide services to our patients. You will generally be the primary pharmacist when the pharmacy manager is not on site.
* Accurately and efficiently perform clinical checks and final checks: review patient data to perform in-depth clinical checks to ensure we are providing appropriate treatment to our patients, as well as final checks of dispensed medications.
* Work with dispensers in maintaining the dispensary: maintaining appropriate stock levels and supplies, liaising closely with suppliers to ensure that we are getting the correct stock volumes and ensuring that they are arriving promptly, safely, and intact.
* Help enhance and innovate our services: by reviewing and auditing our processes. You will have the opportunity to lead and/or work on projects to improve the workings of the Pharmacy department.
* Work alongside other teams: you will be required to work with our London Pharmacy and Dispatch teams, and our UK remote Doctor and Customer service teams to support our dynamic online doctor service.
Skills & experience
* Qualified pharmacist, fully registered with the GPhC.
* We are open to applications from newly qualified pharmacists, as this role does not require extensive experience in other settings.
* Be competent at using basic IT programs such as spreadsheets and the Google Drive suite.
* Have a good understanding of UK pharmacy requirements and regulations.
* Ability to accurately and efficiently clinically check prescriptions as well as perform final checks on dispensed items.
* Eager to learn and develop a career in digital health.
Personal qualities:
* Can work as part of a team
* Ability to follow tasks through to completion
* Strong initiative
* Humble: you listen and take on feedback, and you’re kind and caring to those around you.
* Inquisitive: you question the status quo and dare to do things differently.
* Resilient: you embrace change and face challenges.
* Macher: you are innovative and rise above to improve, develop and deliver.
* Collaborative: you actively share ideas and work together to drive goals as a team.

We are working hard to try and level the playing field wherever we can. We know from research that men are happy to apply for positions where they fit just 60% of the requirements, whereas women and underrepresented groups often will not apply unless they feel they are a super close match. If you don't think you meet all the requirements that you see above, we encourage you to apply and tell us what we can do to give you your best shot. We know that talent is everywhere, and as much as nice CVs are nice, they are often not a proxy for the best person for the job.
