BI and Report Developer

Who are we looking for?
We are currently looking for a new BI and Report Developer to join our IT team at Cambridge Education Group.
Reporting into the Central Systems Product Owner and Data Manager, you will be accountable for producing accurate reports, producing BI reports and assisting with any design requirements the Product Managers want to implement.
Within this role, you will record accurate requirements from key staff in the business in order to produce the mentioned reports and be able to estimate how long the requirements will take to produce.
This role is ideal for an IT professional who has 2nd Line Support experience and wants to progress to a more senior BI developer role.
The role is on a full-time, permanent basis, based at our Head Office in Cambridge, United Kingdom. We operate under a Hybrid Working policy with 3 days a week that can be worked from home.
Other key responsibilities within this role:
* Work with the BI developer within the team to support BAU activities and development.
* Produce interactive reports to clearly communicate the requirements for key stakeholders within the business.
* Use a BI tool to develop key dashboards that can be integral in performing key business decisions.
* Explore patterns in a variety of datasets to uncover insights for business teams.
* Identify opportunities to exploit new technologies (with potential business benefit).
* Work with the team to make key changes to the Staff and Student Portal.
* Collaborate with the service desk team to provide 2nd line support for data investigation on the student information system.
Key skills and experience we will be looking for:
* Ideally educated to degree level in an IT discipline with ITIL Foundation.
* Experienced in the use of Agile delivery models.
* Solid experience and fluency in writing and optimizing complex queries using T-SQL language.
* Knowledge and experience in supporting PowerBI dashboards (desirable).
* Experience in designing, implementing, and developing Microsoft SQL Server BI/Reporting solutions.
* Experience of 2nd line support.
* Experience in analyzing data and producing reports from a Student Information system is beneficial, but not essential.
* Logical thinker with the ability to explain complex issues and solutions to IT and non-IT staff.
* Clear communicator comfortable using both written and verbal communication.
* Ability to motivate and generate energy in others.
* Takes personal ownership for the delivery of key goals.
* Strong collaboration skills and able to lead others.
* Proficient in T-SQL query skills is essential, along with a solid understanding of database schema and basic SSRS report design.

Salary is dependent on location, with up to £45,650 per annum (Cambridge) or up to £43,560 if remote-based - depending on skills and experience.
