Structural Engineer
Location: Barrow-in-Furness
Hourly Rate: £50 PAYE or £65.98 Umbrella
Duration: 12 months
Working Arrangements: 5 days on site per week, will reduce once established
Key Skills:
1. Expertise in structural steel analysis and design.
2. Experience in timber and concrete design would be beneficial.
3. Competent in undertaking hand analysis and design techniques including report writing.
4. Fully conversant in the use of Eurocodes and British Standards.
5. Knowledge and experience of Lloyds Rules, naval design, and DNV would be advantageous.
6. Competent in reviewing and checking of design outputs.
7. Experience in steelwork detailing, including bolted and welded connections as well as geometric tolerances.
8. Good understanding of mechanical engineering, structural steelwork, knowledge of lifting handling, and LOLER.
9. Working knowledge of ABAQUS (Software), S-Frame Foran, MathCAD, and Excel.
10. Previous knowledge in a production environment; experience in a marine production environment is advantageous.
Qualifications:
1. Engineering Degree BEng/MEng or equivalent or equivalent experience.
2. Civil/Mechanical/Structural Based Member of Professional Institution – IMechE, ICE, IStructE.
3. Chartered Engineer (CEng) Status or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) Status nearing CEng Status.
