OurCommunity Paediatric team is made up of a wide range of enthusiastic andpassionate individuals which currently include 4 consultants, 2 associatespecialists, 2 specialist doctors, 4 core trainees, and a diverse team ofnursing staff. The clinical team is supported by a dedicated secretariat team,with office and networked computer facilities.
We are a busy centre, serving a large diverse population. Our communitypaediatric services are delivered across two hospital sites (Pinderfields,Wakefield and Pontefract), which make up The Mid-Yorkshire Teaching Trust. Theservice also delivers clinics within special schools and medical centres in thegeographical area. Our vision is to deliver patient-centred, accessible andintegrated services as seamlessly as possible with primary care. The dedicatedteam at Mid-Yorks sees around 4,500 patients through our outpatientdepartments. Our Trust has modern, spacious state of the art clinical,diagnostic and teaching facilities.

Main duties of the job

General Community and Neurodisability Clinics
ADHD assessment
Social Communication assessments
Administrative duties, for which appropriate office space andsecretarial support is provide
Promote a multi-disciplinary team approachto care within community paediatrics and the wider health/education/social careteams in childrens therapy services, CAMHS and the local authority
Support will be offered for further development through theCESR programme
Supporting Professional Activities in accordance with theTrust Framework, with at least aminimum of 1 SPAs included in the core 10PA timetable. Additional SPA or DCCtime may be commissioned in line with the skills of the successful candidateand changing requirements of the service.

Job responsibilities
This post isoffered on a full time 10 PA basis although less than full time applicationswill be considered. There is also the potential for the post-holder to agree ajob plan up to a maximum 12 PA.
Duties willbe based primarily on our Pinderfields site although all our medical staff willbe involved in delivering care to patients within the Wakefield and Pontefractarea.
Thepost holder would be part of the team of Community Paediatricians who workwithin the wider Community Paediatric team, comprising the Child DevelopmentNurses, the Looked after Children Team, Therapists and Clinical Psychology,with full Administrative and Secretarial support team.
We would welcomecolleagues with a General Community Paediatrician background who may have asubspecialty to complement the existing team.Therewould be the opportunity for the successful candidate to undertake or develop aspecific role or responsibility in line with the candidates experience andrequirements of the service.

Meet the entry criteria for the grade

16. Shall have completed a minimum of 12 years medical work (either continuous period or in aggregate) since obtaining a primary medical qualification of which a minimum of six years should have been in a relevant specialty in the Specialist Doctor and/or closed SAS grades. Equivalent years experience in a relevant specialty from other medical grades including from overseas will also be accepted.
